What Power Outage?
A widespread power outage led to controlled chaos Thursday September 8th throughout San Diego County, Baja California, part of Arizona and other areas. Leaving about 5 million people without electricity.
The outage began at 3:38 p.m. after a 500-kilovolt high-voltage transmission line from Arizona to California failed, as reported by the San Diego Gas & Electric officials triggering a cascade of events that then knocked the San Onofre nuclear power plant off line.
As reported 1.4 million SDG&E customers were left without power causing school and business closures as well, suspended water services in some areas, flight cancellations, blacked-out traffic lights, silent radio stations, and trapped elevator passengers.
BUT here at DomainGurus our services never went down. We are glad to let you now that we count with high end dual generators on which we have spent millions of dollars preparing us for an event like the Power Outage that we had a few days ago. These generators feed multiple UPS systems that provide uninterrupted power to our Data Centers, ensuring you 2 full weeks of maximum power operation.
Once our Clients within and out of San Diego found out we were going through a blackout, called in panicked and questioning their servers uptime. As we told them our Data Centers were working perfectly fine and at no moment did we have a gap without power. It may be hard to believe but here at the office no one had realized the city had no power until we weren’t notified by coworkers returning from their lunch break.
The most panicked clients were those that host large websites world wide and Private businesses in North, Central, South America, and Europe. Surprisingly no one reported any information loss during nor after the event.
As you can see you are hosted with the right Data Center guaranteeing that your Dedicated Servers, Clouds, Clusters, Web Sites, etc… are 100% secure.
